From corporate giants to PTA presidents, from humanitarian leaders to heads of state, everyone loves to talk about “accountability.” In our post-Enron world, accountability has become the new watchword. Yet how many of us really understand what it means or how to make it happen? Companies talk about how much they ‘need’ accountability, yet too few take the concrete steps needed to ‘ensure’ it. Business leaders and managers say they want to “hold their people accountable,” yet they have no idea how or where to start.
