About Alan’s Style & Delivery
- Alan doesn’t lecture or preach. He uses stories and real-life examples to make his point.
- He didn’t use a lot of gimmicks; he had some interesting visuals and props, but they all tied into the Accountability message and made it memorable.
- Alan is clearly passionate about the subject of accountability. I’m sure he’s given this presentation many times, but you wouldn’t know it. He brought a lot of energy to the talk.
- He really engaged the audience and was responsive to questions even tough ones from some of our more difficult employees.
- The activities were fun, and I enjoyed working with people I don’t normally get a chance to work with.
- Alan is very down-to-earth. He puts things in a way that anyone can understand.
About Alan’s Content
- The content was fresh and the program was fun. More importantly, I’ll never forget the “RUG!” (From Alan’s presentation, The Accountability Factor: The Buck Starts Here)
- I wish I had known a Mr. G growing up. Alan made him seem like a real person (which I guess he was). [A reference to Alan’s story about his first baseball coach.]
- This was one of those programs where I walked out thinking, “Why have I never thought of it that way before?” The concepts weren’t new – of course, everyone knows accountability is important. But Alan actually showed us a way to start doing something about it.
- I thought this program was going to be about holding other people accountable, but it turned out to be more about holding myself accountable. I didn’t like it at first, but now I realize that it needs to start with me.
About Working with Alan
- On a personal level, it was a pleasure to work with Alan. He was professional, organized, showed up early and stayed late. He took the time to speak individually with everyone who came up after the presentation (I think he was there for over an hour after the program).
- He surveyed the key leaders in our organization and customized the content for our particular needs. He even asked about technical language and situations so that he could incorporate that into his talk.
- Our program was a great success – our members gave some of the highest ratings ever to the Accountability Factor presentation.
